About MaCCI

The major objective of the Mannheim Centre for Competition and Innovation (MaCCI) is to stimulate and disseminate research in the area of competition, regulation and innovation policy, broadly defined. It is an initiative by the School of Law and Economics of the University of Mannheim and the Centre for European Economic Research (ZEW).

Leibniz ScienceCampus "Mannheim Centre for Competition and Innovation" (MaCCI) Successfully Launched

An international conference on the quality of global regimes for the protection of intellectual property rights and corporate competitive behaviour on 29 March, 2012 opened the new Leibniz-ScienceCampus "Mannheim Centre for Competition and Innovation" (MaCCI). MaCCI’s specific research design is almost unique in Germany and in Europe. The major objective of MaCCI is to stimulate and disseminate research in the area of competition, regulation, and innovation policy. MaCCI is a joint project of the Centre for European Economic Research (ZEW) and the School of Law and Economics of Mannheim University. Mannheim-based MaCCI is co-funded by the State of Baden-Württemberg and the Leibniz Association. 

The inaugural conference provided a platform for research and discussion between academic researchers and professionals in state authorities, legal counsel and economic consultancies.
