19th ZEW Summer Workshop for Young Economists

From July 24-27, 2017, the 19th ZEW Summer Workshop for Young Economists took place. This event is organized annually, but the topic changes according to the organizing unit and thus the workshop is not always part of the MaCCI schedule. However, in 2017 the organizing ZEW research groups were “Competition and Regulation” and “Market Design” and thus the event was able to attract many promising young researchers in the MaCCI field. The workshop featured the Heinz-König award, a EUR 5000 best paper award named after the ZEW founding director. This year, the price was jointly awarded to Jiekai Zhang (CREST and ENSAE Paris) and Bernhard Kasberger (University of Vienna). Both winners will return to Mannheim for a research stay.
