From September 16-19, 2015, the University of Vienna hosted the 32th Annual Conference of the European Association of Law and Economics (EALE). The conference is considered to be one of the most important gatherings for lawyers and economists who conduct research which touches on issues of the other discipline. This year, the conference featured a keynote speech of Massimo Motta, chief economist of the Directorate-General for Competition of the European Commission. He highlighted the importance of cooperation between lawyers and economists in the field competition policy. MaCCI members Wolfgang Briglauer, Andreas Engert, Stefan Frübing, and Kai Hüschelrath presented their ongoing work in parallel sessions and received valuable comments from lawyers and economists in the audience. The conference featured 56 parallel sessions of which about a quarter were related to research fields that are covered by MaCCI.
