MaCCI Law and Economics Conference on New Media – Industry Development and Public Policy

From October 22-23, 2015, the fifth edition of the MaCCI Law and Economics took place. The lectures and panel discussions at this event addressed issues of media convergence from an economic and legal point of view. The first day of the conference was devoted to regulatory questions and competition law concerning private media. Tobias Schmid (RTL Media Group), Thomas Langheinrich (Media Broadcasting Authority of the State of Baden-Württemberg), Helen Weeds (University of Essex), and Markus Mobius (Microsoft Research) participated in the high-profile panel.

On the second day, discussions focussed on economic and legal issues in the online environment facing public service broadcasting. The panel of distinguished experts included Helen Weeds (University of Essex), Robert Amlung (ZDF), and Damian Tambini (LSE London).
