From 27 to 31 May 2019, MaCCI members Bernhard Ganglmair, Georg Licht, Martin Peitz, Helena Perrone, and Bettina Peters participated in the ninth Competition and Innovation Summer School (CISS) at Velika Plaža in Ulcinj, Montenegro, lecturing on topics as diverse as platform competition, vertical restraints, and trade secrets. They were among a prestigious groups of other experts in their respective fields, including Dirk Czarnitzki and Reinhilde Veugelers (both KU Leuven), Jo Seldeslachts (DIW Berlin), Adam Jaffe (Brandeis University, USA), as well as Paul Heidhues and Joel Stiebale both (Duesseldorf Institute of Competition Economics, DICE).

The CISS is organized by the Dusseldorf Institute of Competition Economics in cooperation with KU Leuven (Belgium), the University of Luxembourg, EPFL in Lausanne (Switzerland), the ZEW – Leibniz Centre for European Economic Research, and MaCCI. The summer school offers young economists from the area of competition and innovation research a platform to present and discuss their dissertation and research projects with peers and faculty in a relaxed working environment.
